OH.....and check out Drew LaPlante's site at 27Crags. He's an official "Climbing Bum", currently on staff with Patagonia, Mad Rock, Clif Bar, and headed straight for the stars. Him and his friend Alex got sponsored to literally do nothing but climb most of the Western United States for a duration of the entire summer. This is only the beginning of something big for him. Here it is: http://27crags.com/climbers/dlaplante A wonderful adventure with two wonderful people. Amazing.
Alright guys. One day left until I leave  for the John Muir. Deciding between reading Edward Abbey's "Monkey Wrench Gang" or John Muir's "The Wilderness World of John Muir". I cannot decide. Both are about the wilderness, though Abbey's is about activism (moreso than Muir). Either will be good I guess. I'll be out in the wilderness either way. Cannot wait/ a bit nervous. Leave tomorrow morning @ 9:30 for somewhere around Lee Vining/Mammoth where we will stay the night and hike and hang at altitude. Then Yosemite on Saturday, stay the night, and let the fun begin Sunday morning. My friends Adam, Cory, and Andrew just crossed the Canadian border from Maine about 3 days ago on their bikes. I will be meeting them in about 2 1/2 months in Banff. Radical. Also, seeing as this first part of my trip is the John Muir trail and computers are nearly hanging off of trees in bounty, you will not be seeing many updates or any updates until I get back and upload some words and photos. Cheers to all. Always with honor and love,

Dum-Dum

SO, DUM-DUM MOMENT.....I set the text color to WHITE. That's why no words showed up. White-on-white: quite hard to read.
What just happened to my older postings? Does this thing work? I am so computer illiterate.....AAAAH!!
Have almost all my custom made gear from John Bates. Quilt: check. Tarp tent: check. Filtration: check. Last thing left is the Splitfire netting for my tarp tent. Adam Yeo is leaving shortly for his tour.....UNREAL. Keep him in your thoughts. Also, just dropped the hammer and ordered up an entirely expensive pair of Schwalbe Marathon XR's for my tour at $150. Well worth it for a good rolling surface to ride on. I have been couch-surfing since June 1st at Adam Wirdak, Jordan Lutes, and Billy Day's house. I was sleeping on their couch, but because they too are moving out shortly, the couch that I was living on is now gone and I have a large floor space all to my own. Guess I should get used to and comfortable on the air mattress now eh?! The sooner the better. I found it pretty funny though. Celebrated the birthday on June 1st with some horseback riding! Megan took me out for a ride and made my dreams come true. Deep down and forevermore, all I want to be is a cowboy........YEEHAW!
