San Francisco...

(View from the edge of Pacific and Presidio Heights. My uncle's apartment.)

(Same shot at night.)

This last weekend, Megan and I left Friday morning and spent the afternoon and evening in San Francisco with my uncle. He is a photographer. He is wonderful. We went up to "Land's End" and saw some public sculpture and the Marin Headlands across the Bay. Later that evening, we went to the Mission District and checked out some bike shops and record shops. Ate some Ethiopian food. It was so good and the community style eating was really cool. We left the next morning after a wonderful breakfast of espresso, turkish coffee, tea, hard goat cheese, pineapple, bread, and jam. Notoriously amazing breakfast at my uncle's place.

Got to Santa Rosa around 10:30 where we met Drew and Heidi (Megan's brother and aunt). They had just finished breakfast. Quick shower and off to Vertex, the local climbing gym. Drew, naturally, was in top 5 for finals, but was long gone before that showing us the sights of Santa Rosa. A walk through Healdsburg and a wine taste, then off to Russian River Brew. We had some good food, but the highlight was the crazy delicious beer. Pliny the Elder. Sunday had a drive and taste in store up Dry Creek. We ended up at a winery called "Bella". It was the first tasting I'd had where there wasn't a single bad wine. Even the Chardonnay was so unique and extremely crisp....and not so oaky and buttery as most chardonnays are. The 2006 Zin rocked my house. Day in the country, then back to Drew's.

Arrived back in SLO right around 11:45. Slept like a log. Cheers.
